"Who Is In Control?"
Vaping Awareness Curriculum for High Schools
Welcome to the Curriculum
The "Who Is In Control?" vaping awareness curriculum for high schools was designed to follow up the in-person or virtual Seeing Through the Vapor presentation — but it also works as a completely stand-alone curriculum or as an add-on to your existing lesson plans.
The curriculum takes the entire presentation your students experienced and breaks it down into shorter, focused segments by topic. Each segment includes a video, class discussion questions, and a class activity and/or assignment.
Use the modules in order from start to finish, or pull individual topics into your existing curriculum exactly when they're relevant. This curriculum was built to fit your classroom — not the other way around.
🎯 The Goal
Shine a light on the truth. Help teens get all the facts so they can make the smart decision for themselves.
Whenever we make a decision, we use knowledge. So the real questions are: What do you know about vaping? Where did that knowledge come from? What was the intent?
And what happens when we know the truth — but don't care because we're trying to escape life's challenges? This curriculum confronts all of that, directly and honestly.
How the Curriculum Works
Every module follows the same three-part format — so teachers always know what to expect and students stay engaged from one segment to the next.
Video Segment
Each topic opens with a short, dynamic video clip from the full presentation. The same edutaining style your students already know — now on demand, from any device, anytime.
Class Discussion
Teachers lead a guided discussion using questions written specifically for high school students — designed to spark critical thinking and honest conversation about the topic.
Activity & Assignment
Each segment closes with a class activity and/or assignment that reinforces the lesson and gives students a real opportunity to engage with and apply what they've learned.
Get Ready to Learn
By the end of this curriculum, students will have a clear, complete, and honest picture of vaping — who's behind it, what it does, and how to make decisions on their own terms.
High School Curriculum Modules
Six focused modules — each one built around a video, a class discussion, and an activity or assignment. Teach them in order or drop individual modules into your existing lesson plans.
Designed for High School Students
The discussion questions and class activities in this version are written specifically for grades 9–12. They go deeper — challenging students to think critically about autonomy, identity, and the forces shaping their choices as they approach adulthood.

Flexible for Every Classroom
Use the modules in order from start to finish, or pull in individual topics whenever they fit your existing lesson plans. Either way, it works.
Project It in Class Together
The simplest approach — no student logins needed. Play the video for the whole class, then lead the discussion and run the activity together. Maximum impact, minimum setup.
- Play the video segment on your classroom projector or screen
- Lead the class discussion using the provided questions
- Facilitate the class activity or give the assignment
- Move to the next module whenever you're ready
Individual Student Access
Prefer a self-paced or blended approach? Create a class in the portal, invite your students, and let them work through the modules on their own devices.
- Create a class in the portal and invite your students
- Students log in and complete each module at their own pace
- Track student progress from your teacher dashboard
