A full year of classroom follow-up to the “Kindness & Respect” assembly, built for the youngest grades. Eight lessons, one a month, each one scripted so a teacher can run it cold.

What each lesson contains

  • What they heard — the exact language and demonstrations from the assembly, so you can reference them accurately.
  • Discussion questions — short, concrete, and in the order that works.
  • The activity — one thing to do, 10–15 minutes, with movement in most of them.
  • The assignment — a drawing or a one-sentence task, often to do with a grown-up at home.
  • Teacher notes — what tends to go sideways and how to handle it.

How to use it

One lesson a month keeps the assembly alive for a full school year. Each lesson runs 15–25 minutes and fits a morning meeting or a closing circle.

Keep it moving. This age group gives you excellent answers for about five minutes and then needs to move. Every lesson here has something physical in it on purpose, and none of them require reading or writing fluency — drawing and talking carry the whole curriculum.

One thing to know before you start

Robert opens by naming things like name-calling, fighting, and taking people’s things, and asking whether students have done it, seen it, or had it done to them. Hands go up for all three. That is the premise of this curriculum: nobody in your class is only the villain and nobody is only the victim. His line for it is “nobody is born a bully” — it is learned, which means it can be taught a different way. Do not let these lessons become a hunt for the bad kid.
